Hanz Dismer is a clinician, educator, and public health professional focusing their work on the intersections of reproductive health and gender-based violence.
They serve as Director of Psychosocial Services at Hope Clinic, an independent abortion provider in Illinois, where they are part of a team on a mission to advance the human right to autonomy through the provision of the highest quality medical and emotional abortion care. They also provide mental health services to queer and trans youth and adults.
Dismer grounds their work in Reproductive Justice, an intersectional feminist framework created by women of color in which every person has the human right to bodily autonomy, the self-determination to decide if/when to have children, and the ability to parent children in safe and sustainable communities.
Dismer takes a systems approach to advancing Reproductive Justice providing clinical care and interventions, training providers, directing organizational change, sharing their own stories, and creating educational content.
Dismer provides consulting for organizations, health care providers and educators. Dismer also works as a speaker, facilitator, lecturer, designer and presenter.
